Here are some of my favorites from my second and third rolls of film. You can see the first roll here! I am having a good time playing with my dad’s old SLR but wish I had more things to photograph. My third roll took six months from the first shot to the last, which is pretty awful. I’m hoping to shoot much more this year! Though I will definitely need to find somewhere to develop–spending $15/roll at Walgreens is just not going to cut it. Please send me any recommendations you have!

Photos featuring myself, Joseph, a few family members (niece, sister, & my sister-in-law and her boyfriend), and my lovely friend Asma.

  1. I really really need to shoot more film this year! I have three rolls completed but I have yet to get the developed. I think I was waiting until I had a negative scanner before I got them developed. (I love these, especially the Christmas tree.)

I saw you mention one of your resolutions this year was to shoot 12 rolls of film. I think that’s a pretty good goal so kind of stole it for myself!

I am debating getting a negatives scanner…. I really want to develop for myself eventually (when we bought the house I was happy to have a dark bathroom that I could use!), but I’m not sure when I’ll make the dive. Perhaps very soon since I haven’t found a good place to develop.

I am amused that that Christmas tree photo looks so much like the digital that I edited with one of your film actions! :)

  2. I saw these on Flickr, but wanted to say that they are adorable! I hope you keep taking more film photos – I love the soft colors. ESPECIALLY of Leonardo all snuggled in your bed! He looks so comfy!

Thanks Diane! I got out of bed, and Leonardo promptly look my spot. He just likes to rub it in my face that I have to get up and be responsible while he gets to stay in bed.

  3. Wonderful photo’s Alyssa, film is so beautiful. The only experience I have had with film unfortunately is the old disposable camera, haha!

Jessica–you and I are alike in that! I had never loaded film before I got this hand-me-down from my dad. Now I’ve loaded film a grand total of four times! haha It is really a lot of fun, though.
